An eye-catching Damascene style pendant, depicting a golden vase of flowers, suspended on a gilt coloured chain.

Damascene jewellery originated in Damascus, Syria, before being exported to Spain all the way back in the early 700s AD. It is an art form that originally used precious metals, such as gold and silver, and inlaying it into darker materials to create beautiful patterns and shapes. This technique was initially used on weapons and armour, before it was adapted into jewellery.
